Your data stays on your device

PrepAI stores all your health records, meals, workouts, supplement logs, and AI interactions locally in a SQLite database on your iPhone. No data is uploaded to a cloud server, and no account is required. We do not have access to your health information.

What data PrepAI collects

PrepAI collects nothing by default. The app works entirely offline. The only network calls made are: (1) App Store update checks via Apple's CDN, (2) optional on-device AI model downloads from Hugging Face's public servers, and (3) optional OTA JavaScript updates via Expo EAS. None of these transmit your personal health data.

Apple Health (HealthKit)

Apple Health integration is optional and permission-gated. You must explicitly enable it from Settings → Devices within the app. PrepAI reads the health data types you authorize and may write nutrition, workouts, and body weight back to Apple Health at your direction. Health data read through HealthKit never leaves your device and is never shared with third parties.

Advertising & AdMob

PrepAI is free and supported by banner ads served through Google AdMob. AdMob may receive standard advertising signals such as device type, app interactions, and an advertising identifier according to your consent and device settings. Your meals, workouts, body metrics, Apple Health data, and AI results are never shared with an ad network. You can remove ads permanently with a one-time in-app purchase.

In-app purchases

The ad-free unlock is managed by RevenueCat, which processes purchase history and device identifiers to provide and restore the entitlement. RevenueCat does not receive your health data. Payment is processed by Apple through your App Store account — PrepAI never sees your payment information.

On-device AI

AI features (food recognition, nutrition label scanning, meal planning, and wellness summaries) run entirely on-device using Meta's ExecuTorch runtime. Photos you take for food recognition are processed locally and never uploaded. AI model downloads are optional and require explicit consent with a size disclosure before downloading.

Data export & deletion

You can export all your local data as a portable JSON file from Settings → Export Data. You can delete all local data from Settings → Reset Setup, which anonymizes your local profile, cancels reminders, and clears AI models. There is no cloud backup — you are responsible for preserving your exported data.

Children's privacy

PrepAI is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
